After experiencing reputational damage and huge financial loss due to fraud and corruption, Africa’s freight giant embarked on an 18-month Recovery Plan to regain financial stability and salvage its reputation. We were requested to conceptualise and implement an internal communications strategy aimed at over 50 000 plus of their employees across their six operational divisions country wide.
As one of the main State-Owned Entities that make a significant contribution to the South African economy, the Recovery Plan was met with great enthusiasm by various stakeholders. The internal awareness and call to action to save Transnet led to an uptake by secondary and tertiary stakeholders such as the communities they serve and the private sector. The overall sentiment by Transnet employees was favourable as the stability of the organisation meant the security of their employment and future at the organisation.
